That's the Season finished.....

With the curling season finished here is an update on the last few week of of the season.

Ovenstone

After what had been a very tight league for the most part Ian Robertson and his team of James Arnot, Alistair Stewart and Jane Neill eventually ran away with it in the end with a good winning streak over the last couple of months.

Balmadies

Winning all three games the winner was James Arnot's rink including Alistair Stewart, Angus Dowell and Jim Mitchell.

Inkwell Pairs

I hope his Mum and Dad have a big mantelpiece or trophy cabinet because the winner of the Pairs to go along with being in the winning rinks of the Ovenstone and Balmadies was Alistair Stewart, along with Rory Dowell. They defeated Willie Reekie and Thomas Halder in the final.

Other News

John Dowell and his rink of Hamish Robertson, Thomas Halder and Eric Potts defeated Dun 5-4 on the last stone to win the Ferburn Trophy.

John again skipped a winning rink including Alan Arnot, Angus Dowell and Eric Potts to win the Arbroath Centenary Competition.

Agricar League

After a poor start to this competition we managed to finish in the top 6, hopefully everyone enjoyed playing against some new faces throughout the season.

Superleagues

The Evenie Water Rink in the Forfar Superleague was basically a 5 man team just like Team Brewster's were at the World Championships this year, the only difference was that team Scotland managed to medal whereby we had to rely on other teams doing us a favour just to prevent us from being relegated.....!

Angus Dowell was part of the winning team in the Aberdeen Superleague.

All in all it's been a very successful season for Evenie Water what with the some of the achievements mentioned above along with us winning all our Interclub matches it is a season we can be proud of and one that hopefully everyone enjoyed and got as many games as they wanted. Well done and thank you to all involved.

Just a reminder that the Supper & Prize Giving is to be held in the Star Inn, Friockheim on Sat 4th May at 7.30pm. Kirsty and Garry will likely be chasing you up in the next few weeks. Please could all trophy winners ensure they bring any cups etc they have (preferably engraved already.....!).

The AGM will be held, again in the Star, on Monday 27th May at 7.30pm.

Wishing you all a good summer (even if Spring would arrive it would be a start....!).
