Only 2 weeks left

It's been a few weeks since my last update but in that time we have had some success along with some hard luck stories too.

Interclubs

We rounded off our Interclub matches with wins over Forfar and Fothringham meaning that in a repeat of the 2007 - 2008 season we won all eight Interclub matches. A big thank you and a pat on the back to everyone that participated throughout the season.

Top Ten Challenge

We were unable to win this event for the third successive year but we still managed to come runners up meaning the club funds gained £75 as a result of our prize money, well done to all involved especially those that gave up their whole Sunday.

Crichton Tankard

Another hard luck story, or is it......? John Dowell and his rink were defeated by Fordoun in the local final in Aberdeen in a tight game. It has however transpired that Fordoun fielded an ineligible player and it is now in the hands of the RCCC to come up with a decision on what happens next therefore this story may have another chapter yet!

Dewar Trophy

Hamish Robertson's rink was unfortunately beaten in the final by Aberlemno in an extremely tight game meaning that they just missed out on getting a trip to Greenacres in November to play in the Province Championship (Hamish wouldn't have got to go anyway....! ;) ).

Double Rinks

Don't quote me on this but I believe the rinks skipped by Garry Smith and Ian Robertson won the Double Rinks Competition the other week meaning a trip to the national finals next season. Congratulations and well done to all involved. (Will try find out more details and hope that I got it right, I could get a job with The Sun you know....!)

Club Leagues

The Balmadies is now well under way and the Ovenstone is now drawing to a close although there are a few games to play in the last couple of weeks and it looks like it could come down to the final night with Alan, Ian and John all slugging it out at the top.
